Welcome to Ecotherapy54

Nature-based support for those feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck — rooted in connection, guided by experience, and backed by evidence.

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you're feeling stressed, burnt out, stuck in your head, or simply not understood — and we want you to know, you’re not alone.

Right now, thousands of children, teens, and families across the UK are waiting years for mental health support, especially for ADHD. Services are overwhelmed. Parents feel blamed. Young people are struggling to cope in a world that often expects them to mask their needs.

That’s why we exist.

At Ecotherapy54, we offer a fresh, grounded approach to mental wellbeing — blending evidence-based techniques with the healing power of nature. Whether you’re a young person navigating school, an adult exploring your own neurodivergence, or a parent at the edge of burnout, we’re here to help — gently, holistically, and without judgement.

Our not-for-profit model ensures support stays accessible, real, and human.

What makes us different:

  • ADHD-informed practice rooted in lived experience, education, and psychological insight

  • Outdoor sessions that reduce overwhelm and restore emotional balance

  • Family and school integration, with coaching that works across home, classroom, and community

  • Bridging the gap for those stuck on long CAMHS waitlists or in limbo after diagnosis

We work across the UK — in person across the North West and digitally nationwide — helping people feel safe, seen, and supported.

Whatever’s brought you here, we welcome you. There’s space for you to breathe, explore, and rebuild — one step at a time, and always in your own way.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can nature therapy help improve mental wellbeing?

Combining the healing power of nature with therapeutic support is a winning combination for mental and emotional wellbeing. Nature therapy helps reduce stress by lowering cortisol levels, heart rate, and blood pressure. Immersing yourself in natural environments activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the body’s rest-and-restore mode — which naturally calms the mind and body.

Regular time in nature, even in short bursts, has been shown to improve mood, enhance sleep, increase focus, and build emotional resilience. When this natural grounding is combined with evidence-based therapy, it creates the perfect environment for reflection, recovery, and lasting personal growth.

Do I need a referral from a GP or can I self-refer to your services?

You can self-refer anytime — no GP needed. We also accept referrals from GPs, schools, social prescribers, and other professionals.

What should I expect during a typical ecotherapy session?

Sessions take place in calming natural spaces and are tailored to your needs. It might involve walking, sitting, talking, or engaging in simple nature-based activities, all designed to help you feel grounded, safe, and supported.

“I’ve worked with therapists in a traditional setting indoors before, but it's helped me to truly see the value of being in nature — it’s been a refreshing and grounding experience.”
